New belts @ Carlson Gracie Team Mataleao

Carlson Gracie Team Mataleao had their grading and the following students were awarded their blue belts;

Abbas Brahimi
Shahid Badshah
Amir Badshah
Steve Hoang
Mauro Pires

Well done to you guys and also to all those who received stripes on their belts. Photos to come soon on the club’s website.

Grading started with a warm up and students were then paired up with different guys for a tough sparring session. Finally after the belts were awarded, the instructor as well as senior ranking students carried out a choice of their own takedowns on the guys who received their new belts. It was nice to see so many faces and finally a massive thanks to all those who took part on the grading day.

Walid Tadjouri- Carlson Gracie Black Belt

It is with great pride that i announce that WALID TADJOURI was promoted to Black Belt today by Carlson Gracie Revolution Team Head Instructor Wilson ‘Junior’ Cretaro.

Walid was on the mat at the very first Carlson Gracie London class and has represented the team since the very beginning.He has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 10 years.Walid has won countless Gold Medals at every belt level and is well known as a formidable competitor on the U.K. scene.

He has been a fantastic friend and training partner to both Dickie Martin and myself since the start of Carlson Gracie Team.

Walid runs his own Carlson Gracie Mata Leao academies in Stratford,East London and Luton as well as still teaching every week at The Boiler Room in Hammersmith,Carlson’s Headquarters.I know his own students will be very proud of this massive achievement.

Walid’s promotion took place on a special day at The Boiler Room,with 120 students present to witness the event.There were about 30 more belts awarded and i will announce everyones achievement when i get all their surnames for the UK Belt Register.

Congratulations Walid! It’s a long road we have travelled together my friend.

Schedule Update

We are on a months break.

Classes resume on the 25th September in Stratford judo centre, right behind the station. Do a google search for “Carlson Gracie Mataleao“ for our website and times.

For only £60/month, you can train at all our clubs across London and attend all our classes and styles, day and night if you’ve the energy! Or, you can pay per class which is £8. We train hard and we’ve been told we’re very friendly by all new people.

Easter Classes Schedule

There will be no adult classes on Friday 10th April and Monday 13th April, and no kids classes on Sat 11th April, due to easter bank holidays.

Carlson Gracie Team Mataleao Grading Days 16th/20th March

Carlson Gracie Team Mataleao had a one week grading. Well done to the students who were awarded their blue belts.

Big congratulations to you guys and also to all those who received stripes on their white, blue and purple belts.

Grading started with a warm up and students were then tested on their knowledge and skills in BJJ by demonstrating certain techniques called out by the instructor. There then followed a hard and continuous sparring session both from standing and on the ground. Blue belts and above carried out a choice of their own takedowns on the guys who received their new belts. It was nice to see so many faces and finally a massive thanks to all those who took part on the grading days.

Grading

Carlson Gracie Mataleao will be holding a grading week on 16/20 of March.

Students will be asked to demonstrate how to apply BJJ techniques both in offensive and defensive manner to show their ability of mastering the BJJ moves.

The session will end with sparring in your weight division and in absolute where points and submissions will be counted.
